We went to the largest Motorshow in Southe ast Asia held at Bangkok, Thailand. It was hosted in BITEC (Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center) which is huge enough to host this grand exhibition. The crowd was huge even on weekdays making photography a bit difficult. This year, Lexus bring in their brand new supercar, the LFA. This car needs no more introduction, which is also one of our favourite spot this year. They also showed one of their concept car which is known as the LF-Ch. Toyota's special attraction was their two race car, the Altis and Vios while the other was commercial vehicle selling in Thailand namely the Altis, Camry, Fortuner, and et cetera.
Nissan's booth was mainly targeted for eco-friendly car. The star of the booth was the new March. It received 3,000 booking in Thailand on the first week of the launch itself. Other featured car was the mighty truck Navara, and their luxury sedan Teana. A Nismo S-tuned stickered Tiida was also presented. To our disappointment, there aren't any Nissan Sports were presented. Honda feature their Eco Concept car as well as two race prepped Civic and Jazz. The rest of then Honda was not much interesting as they are existing model on Bangkok's road. This time, we did not notice Honda showing off its AI Asimo, but a very interesting 'one-wheeled-bike' which does not have a handle to ride. Mitsubishi is showing off their newly launched Lancer EX which is pretty similar to our local Lancer. Mazda is as well coping up by showing their Mazda 2, including a sports-tuned version which is real cool. A new MX-5 is spotted as well. Subaru have their flagship STi WRX in with Forester and their S-GT. Move on to the Korean makes, Hyundai showed their new Tucson while Kia bring in their Soul. The coolest Western car featured was the Merc SLS, with its classic “gullwing” doors. The rest was Merc's line up production cars such as the new E-class, S-class and C-class. There were others top-of-the-line models too. BMW did not bring in any of their M car but there are a few Sports version of their line-ups. Volvo emphasized on their sleek C30 and some other production model. Following up was Ford's Fiesta which we think it is 1 of the top rank ed car in its class. Our local Proton was as well proudly present their reliable Persona, Exora, Satria Neo and some race Neos. They have successfully received more than 700 orders on the show. These ends our highlight makes for the show and there is a decent other makes not mentioned. Other than official cars makes booth, they also have a hall dedicated to cars accessories and gadgets. Last but not least, a hall for bikes and some off road machines. Last but not least, we will look forward to the 2011 biggest Motorshow in Southeast Asia.
