Hankook was a korean tyre manufacturer which is climbing the stair-of-tyres-world in a very very fast pace. Due to this factor and my research outcomes, i've decided to get myself a set of 205/50 R16 for my very first tyre swap. Its thread does not looks aggressive to me though comprared to the Good Year Eagle F1 which is also in my mind before I have decided to get the Hankook instead. It has a lot of groove, ranked at traction AA, i suppose it was a fantastic tyre in wet. Fitting onto a 16" 7JJ rims, the tyre side wall looks perfectly fit without any stretching. This means more contact path by looking and comparing with some other tyres of the same size I have seen. Okay, lets get to the tyre performance test. The very first impression to me was its quietness. It was suprizingly quiet with a very minor solid rolling noice. The rolling noise might be caused by the wider tyre size, compared to my stock 185/65 R14. After a few days of crusing, its time for some trashing. Playing with the new toy at my regular bends, the grip of the V8RS can obviously be felt. This was needless to mention as I am comparing it to my stock ones. However, after playing with it for a while, I started to understand its behaviour. It was easy to handle and predictable. While I was not dare to push too hard in wet, I personally thinks that it was good enough for a faster-than-average driving style. This also applies to wet stopping power. I am happy with the price paid in return of such performance. However, it wores out pretty fast to me. It has been one year plus of usage for around 30,000km covered and there is around 35% left. By then, I upgraded my wheels to a set of 17" and paired with a set of Michelin Pilot Preceda 2. Check out the review of it. Anyway, different people have different driving bahavior and expectation. We hope that this review will helps you to make your decision.
